John Hartman's 1988 STREET/STRIP MUSTANG GT

John Hartman is the local Carson City Ford parts department manager and no stranger to fast Fords. He wanted a car that he could drive both on the street with reliability as well as punch out some impressive numbers at the drag strip.

He started with a 347 cu. in. Ford with KB Pistons. Other components include Edelbrock Victor Jr. cylinder heads, Erson special grind camshaft, Performer RPM intake, Mallory fuel and ignition systems, Bassani long tube headers. And to up the power even more, a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger. The car weight is 3,350 lbs. with driver. It has a C4 transmission and 3.73 gears. Best ET is 10.87 at 125 MPH and at 6,200 feet.
